The Arlington Heights Senior Center, Inc. (Foundation) is extending a big thank you to all 72 players who participated in the third annual Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Dryden Pickleball Courts in Arlington Heights.

Advanced winners: (1) Rocky Ruggiero, (2) Matt Alex, (3) Robert Ives; Intermediate winners: (1) Donald Peterson, (2) Gil Barker, (3) Neil Manaliod; Beginner winners: (1) Lisa Shofstall, (2) Jim Burton, (3) Cathy Ostrander. The tournament is especially for people aged 55 and over.

The Pickleball Tournament raised funds for the Foundation of the Arlington Heights Senior Center, through providing support of programs and help reach older adults in the Arlington Heights area. The Arlington Heights Senior Center, Inc Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization who raises funds to support the programs and services of the eight agencies of the Arlington Heights Senior Center.

Arlington Height Senior Center, Inc. (AHSCI) is a separate, not-for-profit fundraising organization which raises funds to benefit the Arlington Heights Senior Center. AHSCI broadens the economic foundation of the senior center by raising funds and receiving donations from diverse sources, including organizations, foundations, businesses and private sources.

AHSCI Funds a “home away from home”

Each day, 500-600 patrons come through the Senior Center doors. While they are there, visitors can enjoy many furnishings and activities supported by the AHSCI such as:

  • Performances, Special Events and Programs
  • Lobby furniture
  • Specialized exercise equipment
  • The buildout and equipping of the Woodshop
  • Welcome Banners
  • Day Lilies in the parking lot
  • and more!

The Arlington Heights Senior Center continues to rely on the funds donated by AHSCI to create a “home away from home” for Arlington Heights and surrounding communities.
